Cubaris sp. “Blue Pigeon” is a beautiful and unusual species of tropical isopod known for its soft bluish-grey colouring that resembles the tone of a pigeon’s feathers. Their subtle metallic sheen and rounded Cubaris body shape make them a very attractive species for collectors and enthusiasts.

Like many Cubaris species, Blue Pigeon isopods are generally shy and prefer to spend much of their time hiding beneath cork bark, leaf litter, or within the substrate. Once the colony becomes established, they can often be seen exploring the enclosure, particularly during the evening hours.

They thrive in warm, humid environments with a deep, nutritious substrate and plenty of natural hiding places. Providing a diet rich in leaf litter, decaying wood, and occasional protein will help maintain a healthy colony.

Cubaris sp. “Blue Pigeon” is a fantastic species for keepers looking to add something slightly different to their collection, combining subtle colouring with the classic charm of the Cubaris genus.
