The Red Headed Cockroach, also commonly known as the Orange Head Cockroach, is a large and hardy species popular with both reptile keepers and invertebrate enthusiasts. Recognised for its distinctive bright reddish-orange head and dark body, this species is fast growing and highly productive, making it an excellent feeder insect for a wide range of animals.
Eublaberus posticus can reach around 4–5 cm (1.5–2 inches) in length as adults. They are an active species that thrives in warm, humid environments with plenty of hiding spaces such as egg cartons or cork bark. Their rapid breeding rate and high protein content make them a reliable feeder for reptiles, amphibians, tarantulas, and other insectivorous animals.
These cockroaches are easy to care for and maintain in colonies, feeding on a varied diet of fruits, vegetables, and dry insect foods. They grow quickly from nymph to adult and can provide a consistent supply of nutritious feeders.
