Originating from Madeira, this locality is known for the males to have exceptionally large antenna  which makes them sexaully dimpohic with their elongated body shape and prominent flagellum adding to their distinctive appearance. They are active, rewarding to observe and particularly impressive once established as a thriving colony.

As with many Porcellio species, they appreciate a well-ventilated enclosure with plenty of hiding places, leaf litter, decaying wood and a reliable source of calcium. Providing a varied diet and maintaining a suitable moisture gradient will help keep your colony healthy and encourage successful breeding.
