Porcellio bolivari “Yellow Ghost” is a rare and visually unique morph of Porcellio bolivari, admired for its pale coloration and subtle, almost translucent appearance. This striking isopod gets its name from the soft yellow to creamy-white tones that give it a ghostly look compared to the darker wild-type forms of the species.

Adults typically develop a long, slender body with the characteristic segmented armor seen in Porcellio species. The “Yellow Ghost” morph often displays light yellow pigmentation across the body with faint patterning, and the pale coloration can make the texture of the exoskeleton more visible. As they mature, individuals maintain their soft ghost-like tones, making them stand out in naturalistic terrariums.

In captivity, Porcellio bolivari “Yellow Ghost” thrives in a well-ventilated enclosure with a clear moisture gradient. They prefer a habitat that includes a dry area along with a consistently moist corner for hydration and molting. A substrate rich in leaf litter, rotting wood, and calcium sources such as cuttlebone or limestone helps support healthy growth and exoskeleton development.
