Laureola sp. “Durian Spiky” is a remarkable and highly distinctive isopod species known for its heavily textured, spiky exoskeleton. Its appearance closely resembles the surface of a durian fruit, which is where this unique isopod gets its memorable nickname. The pronounced bumps and spines across the body give it a rugged, armored look that immediately stands out among other terrestrial isopods.

Typically displaying earthy tones of brown, tan, and dark gray, Laureola sp. “Durian Spiky” blends beautifully with natural substrates such as leaf litter and decaying wood. In captivity, this species prefers a warm and humid enclosure with good airflow.
