Cubaris sp. “Ice Flower” is a beautiful and unusual tropical isopod species admired for its pale, frosted colouration and delicate patterning. Their bodies often display soft tones of white, cream, and light grey, creating an appearance that resembles frost or ice crystals, which is where the name “Ice Flower” originates.
They have the classic rounded and armoured body shape typical of the Cubaris genus, giving them a distinctive and attractive look. Like many Cubaris species, Ice Flower isopods tend to be quite shy and will spend much of their time hiding beneath cork bark, within leaf litter, or burrowed into the substrate.
Once a colony becomes established, they can be fascinating to observe as they explore the enclosure, particularly during the evening or in lower light conditions. Their subtle colouring and unique appearance make them a very desirable species for collectors and enthusiasts.
Cubaris sp. “Ice Flower” is an excellent choice for keepers looking to add a rare and visually striking species to their isopod collection.
