Cubaris sp. ‘Albino Penguin’

A seriously unusual addition to any isopod collection, Cubaris sp. ‘Albino Penguin’ is a striking morph that combines the classic chunky Cubaris body shape with a distinctive pale, almost ghostly appearance.

These fascinating little isopods are perfect for keepers who enjoy something a bit different. Their unusual colouring really stands out against dark substrate and leaf litter, making an established colony a fantastic display piece.

As with other Cubaris, they appreciate a stable, well-established environment with plenty of leaf litter, decaying hardwood, hides and a good moisture gradient. A consistent supply of calcium is also important for healthy growth and successful moulting.

‘Albino Penguin’ are best suited to keepers who are prepared to give their colony time to settle and establish. Once comfortable, watching a colony grow from a few individuals into a thriving population is hugely rewarding.
